Andisheh Bagherzadeh (Tehran, 1993) inizia il suo percorso artistico all’età di quindici anni in Iran, dove frequenta l’Accademia di Belle Arti per ragazzi di Tehran, per poi trasferirsi a Cipro e infine in Italia. Qui si specializza prima in pittura, poi in scultura e nuovi linguaggi espressivi presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. Durante questi anni partecipa ad esposizioni, workshop, residenze, concorsi, ricevendo premi e pubblicazioni. Attraverso video, fotografie, sculture e disegni l’artista affronta gli effetti della migrazione e di come questa vada a modificare profondamente tutti gli aspetti dell’esistenza. Partendo dal legame con la patria, a quello con la lingua madre, fino a quelli meramente personali e familiari tutto viene consumato dalla distanza, ma anche dall’incontro con l’altro. Attraverso questo shock culturale la corazza della tradizione si disfa con tutto il suo peso e i suoi canoni limitanti, scoprendosi fragile, per poi lasciare spazio ad una nuova identità, un’identità “radicante”, che affonda le proprie radici non nel passato, bensì nel presente e le protende verso il futuro.

Andisheh Bagherzadeh, born in Tehran in 1993, embarked on his artistic journey at the age of fifteen in Iran. He initially honed his skills at the Academy of Fine Arts for boys in Tehran before relocating to Cyprus and eventually Italy. In Italy, he further specialized in painting and sculpture while exploring new expressive forms at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. Throughout his artistic career, Bagherzadeh actively participated in exhibitions, workshops, residencies, and competitions, earning recognition in the form of prizes and publications. His work revolves around the profound impact of migration on every facet of human existence. From the connection to his homeland to his relationship with his mother tongue and personal family bonds, the experience of distance and encounters with the unfamiliar reshape his perspective. This cultural shift dismantles the traditional barriers and limiting norms, revealing their fragility. It paves the way for a new identity, one firmly rooted not in the past but in the present, with a trajectory extending into the future. Bagherzadeh’s artistic exploration encompasses various mediums, including videos, photographs, sculptures, and drawings, all of which provide a lens through which he examines the transformative effects of migration.
